Auburn Players to watch:

*Junior NT Derrick Brown (6-5/316)

NT Derrick Brown is a finalists for the second annual Collegiate Man of the Year.

Brown currently has 45 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks five quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He’s been one of the SEC’s top defensive lineman the past two seasons, and many project the junior to be a first-round draft pick if he decides to leave school early. 

Senior MLB DeShaun Davis (5-11/246)

Davis was a first-team All-SEC selection at linebacker after finishing fifth this season with 107 tackles. The senior also led Auburn with 14 tackles for loss and recorded 2.5 sacks, two passes broken up and four quarterback hurries.

***Freshman RB JaTarvious Whitlow (6-0/216)

Whitlow leads the team with 777 yards rushing and four touchdowns despite battling injuries for much of the year. The redshirt freshman has gone over 100 yards three different times this season, including a 170-yard effort against Ole Miss in October, and he’s averaging 5.43 yards per carry.

***Freshman WR Seth Williams (6-3/210)

Williams has caught 24 passes for 479 yards and leads the team with five touchdown receptions. His 11-yard touchdown grab in the final minutes against Texas A&M proved to be the game-winner and was his second touchdown catch of the day. The true freshman also leads the team, and ranks fifth in the SEC, averaging 19.96 yards per catch.

Purdue Players to watch:

***Freshman WR/RS Rondale Moore (5-9/175)

Moore was a first-team All-American as an all-purpose player by the Associated Press and the Football Writers Association of America.

Moore leads the nation with 103 receptions, the second-most in a season by a Big Ten player.  He became the first true freshman consensus All-American in the country since Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson in 2004.

Senior QB David Blough (6-1/205)

Blough ranks second in Big Ten in passing yards (293.4) and total offense (296.2) per game and with 25 passing touchdowns. He is currently tied for fifth on school season passing touchdowns list, seventh with 3,521 passing yards and 3,554 yards of total offense.

*Junior TE Brycen Hopkins (6-5/240)

Hopkins ranks second among Big Ten tight ends with 564 receiving yards and fourth with 32 receptions (third on the Boilermakers) and has two receiving touchdowns.

*Junior LT Matt McCann (6-6/315)

McCann moved from right guard to right tackle and started all 12 games. He has started all 25 games over last two seasons and 33 in a row (35 total), dating to 2015, helping the Boilermakers average 317.8 passing yards (most since 2004) and 141.2 rushing yards per game.
